Welcome to My Website
Hello, my name is Spyrous Skaliotis. I was born in Messolonghi, Greece, in 1984, a city rich in history and culture, which has deeply influenced my artistic journey. My educational background in liberal arts includes studies in drawing, painting, etching, and the history of art. These disciplines have shaped my approach to creating, allowing me to experiment with various mediums and techniques while remaining grounded in classical traditions.
As an independent artist based in Athens, I live and work in a city that is both a contemporary hub of creativity and a place steeped in ancient history. This blend of the old and the new continues to inform my work, as I seek to explore and reinterpret themes of identity, history, and the human condition through a modern lens.
Artistic Philosophy
In my work, I aim to bridge the gap between the past and the present, using the language of art to create emotional and intellectual resonance. My creative process is rooted in a deep exploration of the human experience, with a focus on light, form, and texture. I believe that art is a powerful tool for introspection and connection, allowing viewers to reflect on their own lives while engaging with universal themes.
Exhibitions and Projects
Over the years, I have had the privilege of showcasing my work in various exhibitions, both in Greece and internationally. These exhibitions have allowed me to connect with other artists and audiences, further developing my practice and expanding my artistic horizons. Each project I undertake is a new opportunity to push the boundaries of my craft and engage with new ideas.
Whether through contemporary oil paintings, intricate etchings, or other mixed media works, i am always striving to create pieces that are not only visually compelling but that also invite deeper contemplation. My art is an ongoing journey of discovery, and I am constantly evolving as both an artist and a storyteller.
I invite you to explore my work, learn more about my process, and join me on this creative journey.
